Best TUDCA Supplements Australia 2026: 8 Brands Compared – Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg bottle

Last updated: October 9, 2026 · Originally published: April 10, 2026 · By Eternal Elixir Editorial

Quick Answer

Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg is our pick for the best TUDCA supplement in Australia. Each vegetarian capsule holds 500mg and each bottle holds 90, so one $59.99 bottle covers 90 daily serves at $0.67 each. That was the lowest cost per 500mg of the eight brands we priced in September 2026, where the rest ran from $0.78 to $2.33. Chemist Warehouse does not sell TUDCA, so most Australians buy it online or from a sports nutrition store.

Eternal Elixir makes this product, so treat this box as our pick with the working shown below. Competitor prices were read from each live listing on 25 September 2026.

TUDCA (tauroursodeoxycholic acid) is the taurine-bound form of ursodeoxycholic acid, a bile acid. In Australia it is sold as a supplement for roughly $0.67 to $2.33 per 500mg, depending on the brand, the capsule strength and the shop.

That spread is hard to spot on a product page. Australian listings sell TUDCA at 250mg and 500mg per capsule, in bottles of 30, 60 and 90, with label directions that run from one capsule a day to four. A $46.83 bottle can cost more per dose than a $59.99 one. This guide puts every product on the same footing, the price of 500mg of TUDCA, and then shows the cost of the serve each label actually tells you to take.

What is the best TUDCA supplement in Australia?

Our pick is Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg: $59.99 for 90 vegetarian capsules of 500mg, or $0.67 per daily serve, dispatched from Sydney. It had the lowest cost per 500mg of the eight brands we priced, and it is the only single bottle in this comparison that holds 90 daily serves.

Eternal Elixir makes this product, so weigh our view with that in mind. We have kept every competitor figure exactly as its own listing states it, and the table below shows the sums so you can check them. On price, the closest rival is Best Naturals, whose three-bottle pack on Amazon Australia works out at $0.78 per 500mg. If a long public review history matters most to you, Nutricost and Double Wood have the most customer reviews on Amazon Australia.

The deciding number is cost per 500mg, not the sticker price. TUDCA is sold at two strengths, so a cheaper bottle of 250mg capsules often costs more per dose than a dearer bottle of 500mg capsules. You take twice as many to reach the same amount. The table does that sum for every product.

Best TUDCA supplements in Australia: prices compared (as of Sep 2026)

Cost per 500mg is the pack price divided by the number of 500mg amounts the pack contains. Cost per label serve uses the smallest daily serve printed on each label. Prices are in AUD and were read from each live listing on 25 September 2026. Postage is not included.

8Switch Nutrition Essentials TUDCA$69.9560250mg1 to 4 capsules$1.17$2.33Switch Nutrition

Two patterns stand out. The first is that a low sticker price often hides a small dose. Emrald Labs looks cheap at $0.83 a day, but that buys 250mg. Getting 500mg from it costs $1.66, well over double the $0.67 of a 500mg Eternal Elixir capsule. The second is that the dearest bottle is not the dearest dose. OHC Longevity’s $89.99 bottle works out cheaper per 500mg than Switch Nutrition’s $69.95 bottle, because each capsule carries twice as much TUDCA.

Retailer choice moves the numbers too. Switch Nutrition TUDCA costs $59.95 at Supplement Mart, which is $2.00 per 500mg, against $2.33 on the brand’s own site. Nutricost 500mg costs $43.77 through Amazon’s Global Store and $48.99 on iHerb, or $1.46 and $1.63 per 500mg.

Does Chemist Warehouse sell TUDCA?

No. When we searched Chemist Warehouse’s online store on 25 September 2026, “tudca” returned a single result, which was a fragrance, and “tauroursodeoxycholic” returned nothing at all.

The pharmacy liver shelf is built around herbal and amino acid formulas: milk thistle (often sold as St Mary’s thistle), globe artichoke, turmeric and taurine blends. Those are different ingredients. Milk thistle’s active fraction is silymarin, a mix of plant compounds called flavonolignans, while TUDCA is a bile acid. If you type TUDCA into a pharmacy search and land on a liver tonic, you have found a different product that happens to share the shelf label.

So where does a buyer go instead? These are the four routes Australians actually use, roughly in order of how fast the bottle arrives:

  • Australian online brands. Domestic dispatch, AUD pricing and no customs step. Eternal Elixir ships from Sydney within 24 hours, and it is where the lowest cost per 500mg in this guide sits.
  • Sports nutrition stores. Nutrition Warehouse lists Zombie Labs TUDCA at $59.95, and Supplement Mart offers click and collect on Switch Nutrition TUDCA at $59.95. Store stock varies, so check the listing before you drive over.
  • Woolworths online. Woolworths lists Switch Nutrition TUDCA on its Everyday Market at $69.95, sold and shipped by Healthylife. It is a marketplace item sent by the seller, so you will not find it next to the groceries.
  • Amazon Australia and iHerb. Nutricost, Double Wood and Best Naturals all sell through Amazon Australia, and iHerb ships Nutricost from overseas. Some of these orders come from the US, so delivery takes longer.

We cover the pharmacy question aisle by aisle in our guide to TUDCA and Chemist Warehouse. If you are weighing TUDCA against the herbal formulas that pharmacies do stock, our roundup of the best liver support supplements in Australia sets the two approaches side by side.

Yes. TUDCA is sold openly in Australia as a supplement, and you do not need a prescription to buy it. Australian retailers selling it this month include Nutrition Warehouse, Supplement Mart, Elite Supps and the Woolworths Everyday Market, along with Australian brands such as Eternal Elixir and OHC Longevity.

Two things confuse people here. The first is the name. TUDCA is easy to mix up with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), its parent bile acid, which doctors prescribe as a medicine. The two are related but sold differently, and a UDCA prescription is a conversation for your doctor rather than a supplement shop. The second is the pharmacy gap. Because Chemist Warehouse and the other big chains do not carry it, some shoppers assume TUDCA must be restricted. In practice it sits with sports nutrition stores and online brands instead of the pharmacy liver range.

Ordering from overseas is also common. Amazon’s Global Store and iHerb both ship TUDCA to Australian addresses. The catch is transit time and, on some orders, postage on top of the sticker price, which is why the landed cost of a cheap-looking import is often higher than it first appears.

Where to buy TUDCA in Australia

The shop matters less than the label. Before you buy anywhere, check these four things, because they decide what a bottle really costs you:

  1. Milligrams of TUDCA per capsule. Australian stock is either 250mg or 500mg. If a listing does not state it, leave it alone until you have seen the physical label.
  2. Capsules per label serve. Some 250mg products tell you to take two a day, some tell you to take one. That changes how many days a bottle lasts.
  3. Capsules per bottle. A 30-capsule bottle of 500mg and a 60-capsule bottle of 250mg hold the same amount of TUDCA.
  4. Where it ships from. Domestic dispatch arrives in days. Imports can take a couple of weeks and may add postage.

Here is how the main Australian channels compare on those points:

  • Direct from an Australian brand: Eternal Elixir sells 500mg capsules in 90-capsule bottles, ships from Sydney within 24 hours and ships free on orders over $100. OHC Longevity sells 500mg capsules in 60-capsule bottles and ships Australia-wide.
  • Sports nutrition retail: Nutrition Warehouse (Zombie Labs, 250mg), Supplement Mart (Switch Nutrition, 250mg) and Elite Supps (Emrald Labs, 250mg). These are the realistic options if you want to buy in person.
  • Online marketplaces: Amazon Australia carries Nutricost, Double Wood and Best Naturals. Woolworths Everyday Market carries Switch Nutrition through Healthylife.
  • International: iHerb ships Nutricost 500mg to Australia at $48.99 for 30 capsules.

If you are still deciding how much to take before you choose a strength, our TUDCA dosage guide for Australia covers timing and serve size in more detail.

How we ranked these eight TUDCA brands

Eternal Elixir sells TUDCA, and this list puts our product first. That is our pick, and you should read it as one. What we can promise is that every competitor fact below comes from that competitor’s own listing, read on 25 September 2026, and that we have not bent any of their numbers to make ours look better.

After our pick, the order follows cost per 500mg of TUDCA, from lowest to highest. We also looked at:

  • Dose disclosure. Whether the listing states milligrams of TUDCA per capsule and a clear daily serve. All eight now do.
  • Pack size. How many daily serves one bottle gives you, since a small bottle means more reorders and more postage.
  • Where it ships from. Australian dispatch against an overseas warehouse.
  • Testing statements. Whether the seller says the product is third-party tested, and whether it offers a certificate of analysis.

What we did not do: we did not send any product to a laboratory, and nothing here should be read as saying we did. Testing claims are reported as each seller makes them. Eternal Elixir’s product page says every batch is third-party lab tested for purity and potency, and that you can ask for the current batch certificate of analysis. We did not score customer ratings, because rating counts on marketplaces change weekly and cannot be compared across sites.

#1 Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg

Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg is our pick because it gives you the most TUDCA per dollar of anything we priced: 500mg per vegetarian capsule, 90 capsules per bottle and a one-capsule daily serve, for $59.99. That is $0.67 a day. The next cheapest 500mg serve in the table is $0.78, and most of the field sits between $1.46 and $2.33.

Label facts: tauroursodeoxycholic acid 500mg per vegetarian capsule, 90 capsules (90 serves) per bottle. Take one capsule daily with a meal.

Who it suits:

  • Anyone taking TUDCA every day who wants the lowest ongoing cost. One bottle lasts three months at the label serve, so you reorder four times a year instead of twelve.
  • People who would rather swallow one capsule than two. The full 500mg is in a single capsule.
  • Buyers who want Australian dispatch. Orders ship from Sydney within 24 hours, and shipping is free on orders over $100.
  • People who like to see testing paperwork. Every batch is third-party lab tested, and the current certificate of analysis is available on request.

Who it doesn’t suit:

  • Anyone who wants to start at 250mg. We sell one strength, and the capsules are not designed to be split.
  • Shoppers who want to walk into a store today. It is sold online only.
  • Buyers who lean on large marketplace review counts. Our product page has far fewer reviews than the long-running Amazon brands below.

Multi-bottle pricing: the product page takes 10% off two bottles ($107.98), 15% off three ($152.97) and 20% off five ($239.96). That brings the cost per daily serve down to $0.60, $0.57 and $0.53 respectively. Two bottles also clear the $100 free-shipping line.

#2 Best Naturals TUDCA 250mg (3-bottle pack)

Best Naturals TUDCA 250mg is the closest rival on price. Amazon Australia sells it as a pack of three 60-capsule bottles for $69.99. The label serve is two capsules a day, which is 500mg, so the pack holds 90 serves at $0.78 each.

Label facts: 250mg TUDCA per vegetarian capsule, 60 capsules per bottle, three bottles per pack. Directions: two capsules a day on an empty stomach.

Who it suits: Amazon shoppers who want a low cost per 500mg and are happy to take two capsules a day.

Who it doesn’t suit: anyone who wants to pay for one bottle at a time, since the $69.99 buys three. The review base is also small next to Nutricost and Double Wood. At $0.78 per 500mg it still costs more per serve than our $0.67.

#3 Nutricost TUDCA 500mg

Nutricost TUDCA 500mg is a US brand sold through both Amazon Australia and iHerb, with one of the longest review histories of any TUDCA product. Amazon Australia sells the 30-capsule bottle through its Global Store for $43.77, shipped from the US. iHerb sells the same bottle for $48.99. That is $1.46 or $1.63 per 500mg serve.

Nutricost also makes a 250mg version. Amazon Australia sells the 60-capsule bottle for $52.00, which is $0.87 per capsule and $1.73 per 500mg. Its label directs one capsule one to three times daily with a meal, and the capsule shell is gelatin, which matters if you avoid animal products.

Who it suits: buyers who put a long public review record ahead of price, and first-timers who want 250mg steps.

Who it doesn’t suit: daily users watching cost. At $1.46 per serve the 500mg bottle costs more than twice as much per day as ours, and a 30-capsule bottle means reordering every month.

#4 OHC Longevity TUDCA

OHC Longevity TUDCA is an Australian brand selling 500mg vegan capsules in bottles of 60 for $89.99. The listing says every batch is tested by a third-party laboratory for identity, purity and potency, and it links a certificate of analysis. That is a real point in its favour, and not every rival offers it.

Label facts: 500mg TUDCA per vegan capsule, 60 serves per bottle, one capsule daily with or without food.

Who it suits: buyers who want 500mg in one capsule from an Australian brand that publishes its certificate on the product page.

Who it doesn’t suit: anyone watching price. It has the highest sticker price in the table, and at $1.50 per serve it costs more than twice as much per day as a 500mg Eternal Elixir capsule, with 30 fewer serves per bottle.

#5 Double Wood TUDCA 250mg

Double Wood TUDCA sells on Amazon Australia at $46.83 for 60 capsules of 250mg. Its label serve is two capsules a day on an empty stomach, so a bottle holds 30 serves of 500mg at $1.56 each. It carries one of the largest review counts of any TUDCA listing on Amazon Australia.

Double Wood’s own listing warns that the capsules have a strong bitter taste. That is a fair warning about TUDCA in general, and it is one reason most people buy capsules instead of powder.

Who it suits: Amazon buyers who want a heavily reviewed product and prefer to take it away from meals.

Who it doesn’t suit: buyers who want a bottle to last. At the label serve it runs out in a month.

#6 Emrald Labs TUDCA

Emrald Labs TUDCA is sold through Australian supplement retailers, including Elite Supps at $49.90 for 60 capsules. The listing now states 250mg per capsule with a one-capsule daily serve, which makes it $0.83 a day for 250mg, or $1.66 per 500mg.

Who it suits: people who want a 250mg daily serve and prefer to buy from a sports supplement retailer.

Who it doesn’t suit: anyone after 500mg a day. Reaching that means two capsules, which halves the bottle’s life to 30 days and costs well over double our per-serve price.

#7 Zombie Labs TUDCA

Zombie Labs TUDCA is listed by Nutrition Warehouse at $59.95 for 60 capsules of 250mg in vegetable capsules. The label says to take one capsule daily with food and not to exceed that, so the cost per label serve is $1.00 for 250mg.

Because its label caps you at one capsule, Zombie Labs is not really a 500mg product. We show $2.00 per 500mg in the table only so it can be compared on the same footing as the others.

Who it suits: Nutrition Warehouse regulars who want 250mg a day and like to buy in person.

Who it doesn’t suit: anyone who wants 500mg a day, or who wants the lowest cost per milligram.

#8 Switch Nutrition Essentials TUDCA

Switch Nutrition Essentials TUDCA is an Australian sports nutrition product sold by several local retailers as well as the brand itself. The brand’s own site charges $69.95 for 60 capsules of 250mg, with directions of one to four capsules daily with food. That is $1.17 per capsule and $2.33 per 500mg.

Where you buy it changes the maths. Supplement Mart lists the same 60-capsule tub at $59.95 with click and collect, which brings it to $2.00 per 500mg. Woolworths lists it on its Everyday Market at $69.95, sold and shipped by Healthylife.

Who it suits: people who want flexible dosing from 250mg upward, and shoppers who want a local store pickup.

Who it doesn’t suit: anyone paying brand-site prices for 500mg a day. It is the most expensive 500mg serve in this comparison at $2.33, roughly three and a half times ours.

TUDCA capsules or TUDCA powder?

Loose TUDCA powder turns up on eBay Australia and a few overseas sites. We could not open a current eBay listing when we checked this month, so no powder appears in the table, and we will not quote a price we cannot see.

The practical case for capsules is simple. A 500mg dose of powder weighs half a gram, which you cannot measure with a kitchen scale or a scoop. You need a milligram scale, and a small error doubles or halves the dose. Capsules fix the amount for you. TUDCA is also very bitter, which is why Double Wood warns about the taste on its own listing. Powder also rarely comes with the batch paperwork that the better capsule brands publish.

If you still prefer powder, work out the cost the same way as the table: divide the bag price by the number of 500mg amounts it holds. A 10g bag, for example, holds 20 of them, so it only beats a $0.67 capsule if the bag costs less than $13.33.

What the research on TUDCA shows, and what it doesn’t

TUDCA has an interesting research record, and most of it is early. It is worth being exact about who was studied, at what dose and for how long, because the headline claims you see online often come from cell and animal work.

What TUDCA is

A 2014 review by Vang and colleagues at the University of Minnesota, published in Global Advances in Health and Medicine, describes TUDCA as the taurine conjugate of ursodeoxycholic acid, a water-loving (hydrophilic) bile acid, and summarises research on it beyond the liver (PMID 24891994). It is a review of earlier work, much of it in cells and animals, and not a trial of its own.

The human trials that exist

Insulin sensitivity (Kars et al., 2010). Researchers at Washington University in St. Louis randomised 20 adults with an average BMI of 37 and an average age of 48 to either TUDCA at 1,750mg a day or a placebo for 4 weeks. Measured with a two-stage insulin clamp, insulin sensitivity in the liver and in muscle rose by about 30% with TUDCA (P < 0.05) and did not change with placebo. Insulin sensitivity in fat tissue did not change, and neither did the markers of cell stress in muscle or fat that the researchers expected to move (PMID 20522594).

Blood vessel function after sugar (Walsh et al., 2016). In 12 young, healthy adults, a single 1,500mg dose of TUDCA was compared with placebo capsules before a glucose drink, in a single-blind randomised crossover design. With placebo, flow-mediated dilation of the arm artery, a standard measure of how well blood vessels widen, fell 32% at 60 minutes and 28% at 120 minutes. With TUDCA it moved by 4% and 0.3%, which was not a significant change from baseline. TUDCA did not change blood glucose or insulin after the drink (PMID 27503949).

Gallbladder emptying (Portincasa et al., 1996). In healthy volunteers, a single dose of TUDCA at 10mg per kilogram of body weight did not change how the gallbladder emptied after a meal (PMID 8782006). That is a useful reminder that TUDCA does not simply squeeze out more bile on demand.

What has not been shown

  • No trial has tested 500mg a day in healthy adults. The two human studies above used 1,500mg once or 1,750mg a day, three to three and a half times a single 500mg capsule. Their results belong to those doses.
  • No long-term trial in healthy adults. The longest study above ran for four weeks, in 20 people.
  • Cell and animal findings are not human findings. Much of the work on how TUDCA affects cell stress and cell survival comes from laboratory and rodent studies. Those results are reasons to keep researching, not evidence that the same happens in people.
  • Nothing shows it flushes the liver. TUDCA is a bile acid involved in normal bile flow. It is not a “liver reset”, and no trial shows a two-week course changes anything lasting.

For a buyer, the honest summary is this. TUDCA is a well-characterised bile acid with a small number of promising human studies at high doses. Take it for bile flow support as part of a routine you can sustain, follow your label, and be wary of anyone who claims more than that. If you have decided it belongs in your routine, a 500mg capsule at $0.67 is the cheapest way to take it that we found.

For a look at which longevity compounds have the most human trial data behind them, our longevity supplement evidence index ranks them one by one. And if you are unsure whether TUDCA is relevant to you at all, our guide to when to consider TUDCA for liver support covers when to think about it and when to see a doctor instead.

TUDCA for liver health: where it fits

Most Australians who search for TUDCA want it for liver health. TUDCA is a bile acid, and bile is made in the liver, stored in the gallbladder and released into the gut when you eat fat. Your body already makes small amounts of TUDCA. A capsule adds more of the same molecule to the bile acid pool, which is why it is sold for liver and bile flow support rather than as a quick “flush”.

The human trials above are small, short and used high doses, so treat TUDCA as one part of a liver-health routine rather than the whole of it. The habits with the most evidence are ordinary ones: keep alcohol low, eat plenty of fibre, hold a steady weight and stay active most days. A supplement goes on top of those, not in place of them.

If you are weighing TUDCA against milk thistle, NAC or glutathione for the same job, our ranking of the best liver support supplements in Australia compares them side by side. If you have a diagnosed liver condition, or you take prescription medicine, talk to your doctor before you start TUDCA.

How much TUDCA to take, and when

Follow the label on the bottle you buy. Across the eight products in this guide, the base daily serve is either 250mg or 500mg. Two labels allow more: Switch Nutrition says one to four capsules a day, and Nutricost’s 250mg version says one to three.

Eternal Elixir’s label is one 500mg capsule a day with a meal. Taking it with food that contains some fat makes sense for a bile acid, since fat in a meal is what prompts the gallbladder to release bile. Double Wood and Best Naturals, by contrast, say to take their capsules on an empty stomach. Labels differ, so go with the one in your hand.

The research doses of 1,500mg to 1,750mg a day were used for short periods in supervised trials. They are not a reason to take three or four capsules on your own. If you want to go above your label serve, talk to your doctor first. Our TUDCA dosing guide goes through timing and serve size in more detail.

Who should skip TUDCA or check with a doctor first

  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding and children. We found no published safety data for TUDCA supplements in these groups, so it is not a product for them.
  • Gallbladder or bile duct problems. If you have gallstones, a blocked bile duct or any diagnosed liver or gallbladder condition, do not start TUDCA without your doctor. It acts on bile, and that needs medical oversight in those situations.
  • Prescription UDCA. If your doctor already prescribes ursodeoxycholic acid, do not add TUDCA on top without asking them.
  • Other medicines. The consumer medicine information for ursodiol, TUDCA’s parent bile acid, lists antacids that contain aluminium as an interaction (MedlinePlus). Nobody has published the same check for TUDCA, so ask your pharmacist about spacing it from antacids and about any prescription medicine you take.

TUDCA vs milk thistle vs NAC

These three get shelved together because they are all sold for liver support, but they are different kinds of compound.

  • TUDCA is a bile acid, the taurine-bound form of ursodeoxycholic acid. It is sold in sports nutrition stores and online.
  • Milk thistle is a plant extract whose main active fraction is silymarin. It is what Australian pharmacies stock on the liver shelf.
  • NAC (N-acetylcysteine) is a form of the amino acid cysteine, which the body uses to make glutathione.

They work through different routes, so one is not a stand-in for another. We compare them head to head in three guides: TUDCA vs milk thistle, TUDCA vs NAC for liver support and the three-way TUDCA, NAC and milk thistle comparison.

What to take alongside TUDCA

Most people buying TUDCA are building a small routine around it. The useful question is what adds something different, not what can be bundled onto an order.

Glutathione. Glutathione is the body’s main antioxidant, and it works on a different side of liver metabolism from a bile acid. Reduced L-Glutathione 2000mg is our option at $39.99 for 90 capsules. The serve is two capsules (2,000mg), so a bottle gives 45 serves, not 90. That is exactly the kind of sum this guide asks you to do before every purchase. Our glutathione comparison applies the same per-serve method across the category.

Berberine. People interested in the insulin sensitivity research above often look at berberine as well. Berberine HCl 500mg is $49.99 for 90 capsules, and our Australian berberine comparison prices the field the same way as this page.

The Metabolic Wellness Stack. If you want all three, the Metabolic Wellness Stack already contains TUDCA, berberine and glutathione for $126.99. Buy it instead of a separate TUDCA bottle, not as well as one, or you will double up.

The cellular ageing layer. Further from the liver, some people add an NAD+ precursor such as NMN 500mg or Ca-AKG 500mg. That is a separate goal with its own evidence base, which our NMN comparison and Australian longevity stack guide cover in detail.

One rule for all of this: start one product at a time, about a fortnight apart. If you begin four things in the same week and one disagrees with you, you will not know which one it was.

The verdict: the best TUDCA supplement in Australia by buyer type

If you take TUDCA daily and want the lowest ongoing cost: Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg, our pick overall, at $0.67 per 500mg serve in a 90-capsule bottle that lasts three months.

If you only buy through Amazon: the Best Naturals three-bottle pack, at $0.78 per 500mg.

If you want to start at 250mg with a long review record: Nutricost TUDCA 250mg on Amazon Australia.

If you want an Australian brand’s published certificate at 500mg per capsule and price is secondary: OHC Longevity TUDCA.

If you want it in your hand today: Zombie Labs at Nutrition Warehouse or Switch Nutrition with click and collect at Supplement Mart, if your local store has stock.

What to avoid: any TUDCA listing that does not state milligrams per capsule, and loose powder unless you own a milligram scale.

For most Australians taking TUDCA as a daily habit, the arithmetic points one way. Browse the full Eternal Elixir range, or start with the bottle below.

TUDCA in Australia: frequently asked questions

Is TUDCA legal in Australia?

Yes. TUDCA is sold openly in Australia as a supplement, and you do not need a prescription to buy it. Nutrition Warehouse, Supplement Mart, Elite Supps and the Woolworths Everyday Market all list it, as do Australian brands including Eternal Elixir. Do not confuse it with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), its parent bile acid, which doctors prescribe as a medicine.

Does Chemist Warehouse sell TUDCA?

No. A search of Chemist Warehouse’s online store on 25 September 2026 returned no TUDCA products. Its liver range is built around herbal formulas such as milk thistle, globe artichoke and taurine blends, which are different ingredients. Australians buy TUDCA from sports nutrition stores, Amazon Australia, iHerb or direct from Australian brands.

Where can I buy TUDCA in Australia?

Online, you can buy it direct from Australian brands such as Eternal Elixir (500mg capsules, shipped from Sydney) and OHC Longevity, or through Amazon Australia and iHerb. What is the best TUDCA supplement in Australia?

Our pick is Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg: 90 vegetarian capsules of 500mg for $59.99, which is $0.67 per daily serve. That was the lowest cost per 500mg of the eight brands we priced. Eternal Elixir makes it, so weigh our view with that in mind. The closest rival on price was the Best Naturals three-bottle pack on Amazon Australia at $0.78 per 500mg.

How much TUDCA should I take?

Follow your label. The products sold in Australia use a base serve of 250mg or 500mg a day, and Eternal Elixir’s label is one 500mg capsule daily with a meal. The human studies used 1,500mg to 1,750mg a day for short periods under supervision, which is not a reason to go above your label on your own. Talk to your doctor before taking more.

Should TUDCA be taken with food?

Eternal Elixir’s label says to take it with a meal, and a meal with some fat in it is what prompts the gallbladder to release bile. Some brands, including Double Wood and Best Naturals, say to take their capsules on an empty stomach. Labels differ, so follow the one on your bottle.

Is TUDCA the same as milk thistle?

No. TUDCA is a bile acid, the taurine-bound form of ursodeoxycholic acid. Milk thistle is a plant extract whose main active fraction is silymarin. Both are sold for liver support, but they are different compounds that work in different ways, and one is not a substitute for the other.

Is TUDCA powder cheaper than capsules?

Not usually, once you divide the price by the number of 500mg amounts in the bag. A 10g bag holds 20 of them, so it only beats a $0.67 capsule if it costs less than $13.33. Powder also needs a milligram scale to dose accurately and tastes very bitter.

Why is cost per serve different from price per capsule?

Because TUDCA is sold at two strengths. A 250mg capsule is half of a 500mg amount, so a 60-capsule bottle of 250mg holds 30 amounts of 500mg, not 60. Comparing the per-capsule price of a 250mg product with a 500mg product makes the weaker one look twice as cheap as it is.

Who should not take TUDCA?

Skip it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and do not give it to children, since we found no published safety data for those groups. If you have gallstones, a blocked bile duct or any diagnosed liver or gallbladder condition, or if you already take prescription ursodeoxycholic acid, speak to your doctor before starting. Ask your pharmacist about spacing it from antacids and about any prescription medicine you take.

Can I take TUDCA with glutathione or berberine?

Many people do, because each one works on a different part of metabolism. Start them a fortnight apart so you can tell how each one suits you. If you want all three, the Eternal Elixir Metabolic Wellness Stack already includes TUDCA, berberine and glutathione, so buy it instead of a separate TUDCA bottle.
