Double Wood Supplements Australia 2026: 6 TUDCA Alternatives – Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg bottle

Last updated: September 28, 2026 · Originally published: August 27, 2026 · By Eternal Elixir Editorial

Double Wood TUDCA is a synthetic TUDCA (tauroursodeoxycholic acid) supplement from the US brand Double Wood Supplements. Each capsule holds 250 mg, a bottle holds 60, and the label serve is two capsules (500 mg) a day on an empty stomach. In Australia you can order it direct from the brand in US dollars (US$27.95 a bottle) or buy it from local resellers, where we found it at A$44.95 and A$99.95 for the same 60-capsule bottle.

If you are open to an alternative, our pick is Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg: $59.99 for 90 capsules with the full 500 mg in each capsule, one capsule a day with a meal, which works out at $0.67 per 500 mg. Eternal Elixir makes it and it is our pick. This guide compares it with five other TUDCA products Australians can buy in AUD, using each seller’s own label and price, and sets out what Double Wood does well.

Quick answer: the best Double Wood TUDCA alternatives in Australia

Our pick: Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg, $59.99 for 90 capsules, $0.67 per 500 mg. It has the lowest cost per 500 mg in this comparison and the only 90-serve bottle of a 500 mg capsule.

Lowest cost among the 250 mg capsules: Anabolix Nutrition TUDCA at Nutrition Warehouse, $59.95 for 90 capsules of 250 mg, or $1.33 per 500 mg.

Most published testing detail: OHC Longevity TUDCA, $89.99 for 60 vegan capsules of 500 mg, with a certificate of analysis linked on the product page.

Smallest pack of a 500 mg capsule: Nutricost TUDCA 500mg at iHerb AU, AU$48.99 for 30 capsules.

A few numbers set the scene:

  • $0.67 to $2.00 per 500 mg is the range across the six alternatives, at each label’s stated capsule strength.
  • 250 mg or 500 mg per capsule: capsule strength is the main reason bottle prices mislead in this category.
  • US$27.95 is Double Wood’s own price for a 60-capsule bottle, which gives 30 serves at its two-capsule serve.

Double Wood TUDCA: what it is, the dose and where to buy it in Australia

Double Wood Supplements is a large American company known for single-ingredient products. Its TUDCA is fully synthetic, made in a lab rather than from bear bile or any animal source, and the product page says each batch is tested by third-party labs, with certificates of analysis published on the page. The label serve is two 250 mg capsules (500 mg) a day on an empty stomach, and the brand says not to exceed four capsules a day. The capsule shell is bovine gelatin, which rules it out for vegetarians.

There is no Double Wood store in Australia, so you have three ways to buy it:

  • Direct from the brand at doublewoodsupplements.com, US$27.95 a bottle, priced in US dollars. Currency conversion, any card fee and international postage come on top.
  • From an Australian reseller. MyDFX lists the 60-capsule bottle at A$44.95, which is $1.50 per 500 mg serve. Wallaby Wellness lists the same bottle at A$99.95, or $3.33 per serve.
  • From a marketplace such as Amazon, where prices and sellers change often.

The spread between two Australian resellers of the identical bottle, A$44.95 against A$99.95, is the best argument for checking cost per serve before you buy anything in this category.

Who Double Wood suits: buyers who want the Double Wood label specifically, like a two-capsule routine they can split across the day, and value openly published batch certificates.

Who it doesn’t: vegetarians (gelatin capsule), anyone who wants one capsule a day, and anyone who would rather pay in AUD from a single domestic seller.

How we ranked these TUDCA alternatives

Eternal Elixir sells TUDCA, so here is how the list was built. Our TUDCA 500mg is first because it has the lowest cost per 500 mg here, the full 500 mg in a single capsule and a 90-serve bottle sent from Sydney. The other five are ordered on:

  • Cost per 500 mg in AUD, from each seller’s stated capsule strength and count.
  • Label clarity: is the amount per capsule and the serve printed, and are the directions consistent?
  • Testing transparency: does the seller publish a certificate of analysis or describe its testing?
  • Australian availability: priced in AUD, in stock, and sent from within Australia or from a retailer that ships here routinely.

We did not test any product ourselves, and we have not scored anything on customer ratings. Where a seller does not publish a figure, we say so rather than estimate one. For the wider field, see our guide to the best TUDCA supplements in Australia.

1. Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg: our pick

Key specs: $59.99 for 90 capsules. Each capsule holds 500 mg of TUDCA, and the label serve is one capsule a day with a meal. Ninety serves per bottle, $0.67 a serve. Ships from Sydney within 24 hours, free delivery on orders over $100, 30-day money-back guarantee.

This is the cheapest way to buy TUDCA in this comparison on a like-for-like basis. You get the full 500 mg in one capsule, so there is no doubling up, and the 90-capsule bottle lasts three months at the label serve. Most of the alternatives sell 30 or 60 capsules, so over a year you reorder four times instead of six or twelve. Against Double Wood, one bottle of ours holds three times the TUDCA of a 60-capsule bottle of 250 mg capsules, and you pay in the dollars you earn with no international postage.

What we would flag honestly: the product page does not publish a TUDCA-specific certificate of analysis the way Double Wood and OHC Longevity do, and there is no small trial size.

Who it suits: Australians who want a full 500 mg capsule once a day at the lowest cost per serve, from a local seller.

Who it doesn’t: anyone who wants to start below 500 mg (a 250 mg capsule is easier to adjust), and anyone who wants to read a batch certificate before ordering.

Pros

  • $0.67 per 500 mg, the lowest cost per serve here
  • 500 mg in a single capsule, one capsule a day
  • 90 serves per bottle, three months at the label serve
  • Sent from Sydney within 24 hours

Cons

  • No TUDCA certificate of analysis published on the product page
  • No 30-capsule trial size
  • A 500 mg capsule cannot be split if you want to start lower

Buy it here: TUDCA 500mg, $59.99 for 90 capsules. For how TUDCA fits a wider routine, see our roundup of liver support supplements in Australia.

2. Anabolix Nutrition TUDCA: lowest cost among the 250 mg capsules

Key specs: $59.95 for 90 capsules at Nutrition Warehouse. Each capsule is one 250 mg serve. The label says one to two capsules a day with food, up to three for advanced users, and never more than three in 24 hours. Vegetable (HPMC) capsule with rice flour, silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate. $1.33 per 500 mg.

Anabolix Nutrition is a sports-nutrition brand sold at Nutrition Warehouse, and this is the value pick if you prefer 250 mg capsules. Ninety capsules is a good count for the price, and the 250 mg size lets you start at one capsule and see how you go. At two capsules a day, a bottle lasts 45 days.

Who it suits: gym-goers who already shop at Nutrition Warehouse and want a flexible 250 mg capsule at a low cost per serve.

Who it doesn’t: anyone who wants a single 500 mg capsule, and anyone who wants published batch testing.

Pros

  • $1.33 per 500 mg, second-lowest here
  • 90 capsules per bottle
  • Vegetarian capsule

Cons

  • Two capsules to reach 500 mg
  • No certificate of analysis on the listing

3. OHC Longevity TUDCA: most published testing detail

Key specs: $89.99 for 60 capsules at OHC Longevity. Each vegan capsule holds 500 mg of TUDCA, and the label serve is one capsule a day, with or without food. Sixty serves, $1.50 a serve. Orders placed before 1:30 pm AEST are sent the same day.

OHC Longevity is the transparency pick. The product page says every batch is tested by a third-party lab for identity, purity and potency, and it links the certificate of analysis. The capsule is vegan HPMC, which matters if you avoid gelatin. You pay for that: $1.50 a serve is more than twice our figure, and a bottle lasts two months rather than three.

Who it suits: buyers who want to read the batch certificate before ordering and want a vegan 500 mg capsule.

Who it doesn’t: anyone focused on cost per serve.

Pros

  • Certificate of analysis linked on the product page
  • 500 mg vegan capsule, one a day
  • Same-day dispatch on orders before 1:30 pm AEST

Cons

  • $1.50 a serve, more than twice our cost
  • 60 capsules, a two-month supply

4. Nutricost TUDCA 500mg: smallest pack of a 500 mg capsule

Key specs: AU$48.99 for 30 capsules at iHerb AU. Each gelatin capsule holds 500 mg, and the label serve is one capsule a day with water. Thirty serves, $1.63 a serve.

Nutricost is a large US brand, and iHerb lets Australians buy it in AUD. The 30-capsule pack is the lowest-commitment way to try a 500 mg capsule, which is its main appeal. It is dearer per serve than a 90-capsule bottle, and delivery comes from iHerb’s overseas warehouses rather than from within Australia.

Who it suits: first-time buyers who want a month of 500 mg capsules to see how they get on.

Who it doesn’t: vegetarians, and anyone planning to take TUDCA for several months.

Pros

  • 500 mg per capsule in a small pack
  • Priced in AUD

Cons

  • $1.63 a serve
  • Only 30 capsules
  • Gelatin capsule, sent from overseas

5. Emrald Labs TUDCA: lowest bottle price

Key specs: $49.90 for 60 capsules at Elite Supps. Each vegetarian HPMC capsule holds 250 mg, one capsule per serve, with silicon dioxide as the only other ingredient. $1.66 per 500 mg. Elite Supps sends weekday orders placed before 1 pm the same day.

It is the cheapest bottle here, and the short ingredient list is a plus. Normalised, though, it is not the cheapest TUDCA: sixty 250 mg capsules contain 15,000 mg in total, so 500 mg costs $1.66, about two and a half times our figure. The label is also strict. It is for healthy adults only, not for anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing, and not for anyone with a medical condition or taking prescription medication.

Who it suits: healthy adults who want a low entry price and a small capsule to start with. Our Elite Supps review for Australian buyers covers the retailer.

Who it doesn’t: anyone taking prescription medicines (the label excludes them) and anyone who wants 500 mg in one capsule.

Pros

  • Lowest bottle price at $49.90
  • Two-ingredient formula in a vegetarian capsule

Cons

  • $1.66 per 500 mg
  • Two capsules to reach 500 mg

6. Zombie Labs TUDCA: 250 mg with food

Key specs: $59.95 for 60 capsules at Nutrition Warehouse. Each vegetable-cellulose capsule holds 250 mg of TUDCA with microcrystalline cellulose. One capsule a day with food. $2.00 per 500 mg.

Zombie Labs is a sports-nutrition brand with a straightforward single-ingredient label. It sits last here on cost: at one capsule a day a bottle lasts two months, but getting to 500 mg costs $2.00, three times our figure. It is a reasonable pick if you already buy from Zombie Labs and want one delivery.

Who it suits: existing Zombie Labs customers and anyone happy with a 250 mg daily amount.

Who it doesn’t: anyone comparing on cost per 500 mg.

Pros

  • Simple label, vegetarian capsule
  • Taken with food, which some people find easier on the stomach

Cons

  • $2.00 per 500 mg, the highest of the six
  • No certificate of analysis on the listing

Is TUDCA hard on the liver? Side effects and who should avoid it

TUDCA is a bile acid your body already makes in small amounts. Short human trials have used doses well above a typical label serve, such as 1,750 mg a day for four weeks, but long-term safety data is limited. The side effects people report are mostly digestive: loose stools, stomach discomfort or bloating, which some labels say are more likely on an empty stomach or at higher intakes. That is one reason our label says to take one capsule with a meal.

Where caution matters:

  • If you have a liver or gallbladder condition, or take any prescription medicine, particularly one processed by the liver, talk to your doctor before starting TUDCA. Some labels in this comparison exclude people on prescription medication outright.
  • TUDCA is not for anyone under 18, or anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Stick to the serve on your label. Do not stack two TUDCA products, and do not buy TUDCA separately if you already take a stack that contains it.

Our guide to TUDCA side effects and safety covers this in more detail, and our TUDCA dosage guide for Australia compares label serves across brands.

What the research on TUDCA actually shows

Human research on TUDCA as a supplement is real but narrow, and it is worth knowing what has and has not been studied.

Kars and colleagues, 2010. Twenty adults with a high body mass index (average age 48) were randomised to TUDCA at 1,750 mg a day or placebo for four weeks. Insulin sensitivity in the liver and muscle rose by about 30% with TUDCA and did not change with placebo. Insulin sensitivity in fat tissue did not change, and markers of cellular stress did not move in either group. That is a small, short trial at more than three times the 500 mg serve on our label, so it does not tell you what one capsule a day will do, and we do not suggest taking more than the label serve.

Lab and animal work. Most of what you read about TUDCA and bile flow, digestion or cellular stress comes from cell and animal studies. They suggest plausible mechanisms, but results in animals do not carry over to people as a matter of course.

What has not been shown: there are no large, long-term trials of TUDCA supplements in healthy adults, and no trials comparing one TUDCA brand with another. Synthetic TUDCA from any of these brands is the same molecule, so for most buyers the practical differences are capsule strength, price per serve, capsule material and how much testing information the seller publishes.

Our explainer on TUDCA, bile flow and the gut microbiome goes deeper on the proposed mechanisms.

Pairing TUDCA with glutathione or berberine

Many people who buy TUDCA take it as part of a broader routine. Two common pairings from our range:

  • Reduced L-Glutathione, $39.99 for 90 capsules, 2,000 mg per two-capsule serve. Glutathione is the body’s main antioxidant, so it covers a different job from TUDCA. Our glutathione supplement comparison explains the forms.
  • Berberine HCl 500mg, $49.99 for 90 capsules, one capsule a day on an empty stomach. It is often chosen by people interested in metabolic health, and it works through a different pathway from bile acids. Talk to your doctor first if you take any prescription medicine.

The Metabolic Wellness Stack ($126.99) bundles TUDCA 500mg, Berberine HCl 500mg and Reduced L-Glutathione. It already contains TUDCA, so do not buy our TUDCA separately if you choose the stack. If your interest in TUDCA comes from healthy ageing, the Cellular Longevity Stack ($139.99) combines NMN, spermidine and trans-pterostilbene, and NMN 500mg is the single product most people start with. Our best longevity supplements in Australia guide compares that category on daily cost. Add one product at a time, so that if something disagrees with you, you know which one it was.

Frequently asked questions

What is the TUDCA supplement from Double Wood?

It is a synthetic tauroursodeoxycholic acid supplement in 250 mg gelatin capsules, 60 to a bottle. The label serve is two capsules (500 mg) a day on an empty stomach, with no more than four capsules a day. The brand publishes batch certificates on its product page.

What is the best brand of TUDCA in Australia?

Our pick is Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg: $59.99 for 90 capsules, 500 mg per capsule, one a day with a meal, $0.67 per serve and sent from Sydney. If you want a 250 mg capsule, Anabolix Nutrition TUDCA has the lowest cost per 500 mg of that type. If published batch testing matters most, OHC Longevity links its certificate of analysis.

Where can I buy Double Wood TUDCA in Australia?

Double Wood has no Australian store. You can order direct in US dollars, or buy from Australian resellers: MyDFX listed it at A$44.95 and Wallaby Wellness at A$99.95 for the same 60-capsule bottle when we checked in September 2026. See our guide to buying TUDCA in Australia for more options.

Is TUDCA hard on the liver?

TUDCA is a bile acid the body already makes, and it is widely used at label doses. The human trials are small and short, so long-term safety data is limited, and that is not the same as saying it suits everyone. If you have a liver or gallbladder condition or take prescription medicines, talk to your doctor before you start.

What are the potential downsides of taking TUDCA?

The common ones are digestive: loose stools, stomach discomfort or bloating. The others are practical. The human evidence is limited, most benefits you read about come from animal and lab studies, and prices vary widely for the same molecule. It is not for under-18s or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How much does TUDCA cost in Australia?

Across the six alternatives we compared, the cost ran from $0.67 to $2.00 per 500 mg. Double Wood through Australian resellers ran from $1.50 to $3.33 per 500 mg. Bottle prices mislead because capsule strength varies between 250 mg and 500 mg, so always work out cost per 500 mg.

How many TUDCA capsules should I take a day?

Follow the label of the product you buy. For our TUDCA 500mg that is one capsule a day with a meal. Double Wood’s label serve is two 250 mg capsules, and Emrald Labs’ is one 250 mg capsule. Talk to a healthcare professional before changing the amount, especially if you take medication.

Is TUDCA sold at Chemist Warehouse?

TUDCA is mostly sold by specialist supplement retailers and brands online rather than pharmacies. We cover what we found in our guide to TUDCA at Chemist Warehouse.

The verdict for Australian buyers

Double Wood makes a good TUDCA, with a synthetic ingredient and openly published batch certificates. For an Australian buyer the questions are price and convenience: the same bottle ranged from A$44.95 to A$99.95 at two local resellers, the capsules are gelatin, and you need two of them for a 500 mg serve.

Our pick: Eternal Elixir TUDCA 500mg, $59.99 for 90 capsules, $0.67 per 500 mg, one capsule a day with a meal, sent from Sydney within 24 hours.

If you prefer a 250 mg capsule: Anabolix Nutrition TUDCA, $59.95 for 90 capsules, $1.33 per 500 mg.

If published testing matters most: OHC Longevity TUDCA, $89.99 for 60 vegan 500 mg capsules.

Whatever you choose, check capsule strength and count before you compare prices. More guides: best TUDCA supplements in Australia, the Eternal Elixir blog and our supplement guides. You can also browse the full range or return to the Eternal Elixir home page.
