Tongkat Ali at Chemist Warehouse: Is It Available + Australian Alternatives (2026) – Eternal Elixir Tongkat Ali 200:1 Extract 2000mg bottle

Last updated: September 25, 2026 · Originally published: May 12, 2026 · By Eternal Elixir Editorial

Quick answer: Chemist Warehouse does not sell a standalone tongkat ali extract. When we checked Google Australia for “tongkat ali chemist warehouse” in September 2026, the Chemist Warehouse results were multi-ingredient men’s formulas such as Caruso’s Male Mojo, Caruso’s Testorod and BSc Triandrobol Test Alpha, not a single-herb Eurycoma longifolia product. If you want tongkat ali on its own, buy it from a specialist Australian supplier. Our pick is Eternal Elixir’s Tongkat Ali 200:1 Extract: 90 capsules, a 2,000mg serving on the label, and dispatch from Sydney.

This guide covers what Chemist Warehouse does stock, what the tongkat ali research actually tested, how to read a tongkat ali label, and where Australians buy a single-ingredient product. Eternal Elixir makes Tongkat Ali 200:1 Extract; it is our pick, and every figure for the other products comes from their own product pages.

Does Chemist Warehouse sell tongkat ali in Australia?

Not as a single-ingredient supplement. Chemist Warehouse’s men’s health shelf is built around combination formulas. The three products its site returned for our tongkat ali search were Caruso’s Male Mojo 30 tablets, Caruso’s Testorod 60 tablets and BSc Triandrobol Test Alpha 60 tablets. Each is a blend of several botanicals and nutrients. None is a standalone Eurycoma longifolia extract with a stated extract ratio.

That matters if you are buying tongkat ali because of the published research. The trials below used a single, standardised Eurycoma longifolia extract at a fixed daily amount. A blend that lists tongkat ali as one of many ingredients is a different product, and you cannot compare it with those studies without knowing how much extract each tablet holds. Chemist Warehouse’s product pages block automated checks, so we have not quoted their labels here. Read the ingredient panel in store or online before you buy one of them for its tongkat ali content.

The same pattern holds across the big pharmacy chains. If you want tongkat ali on its own, you will be shopping with a specialist supplement retailer rather than a chemist.

Where to buy tongkat ali in Australia

Two single-ingredient tongkat ali products turned up in the Australian results for this search: our own capsules, and a powder sold by Nutrition Warehouse. Prices are as of Sep 2026.

Who each one suits. Eternal Elixir’s capsules suit people who want a fixed, pre-measured serving, a 200:1 extract and a bottle that lasts a month at the label dose. Evolution Botanicals’ powder suits people who want the lowest cost per serving and don’t mind stirring a bitter powder into water. Its own directions warn about the taste. If you want the cheapest serving in this comparison, the powder wins on price. If you want capsules, a higher extract ratio and Australian dispatch, ours is the better fit.

Why a men’s formula is not the same as a tongkat ali extract

Tongkat ali’s studied compounds, such as eurycomanone, come from the root. Brands concentrate them by extraction, and the label tells you how far. Three details decide what you are actually taking.

  • Extract ratio. A 200:1 extract is made from 200 parts of root for each part of finished extract. A label that says only “tongkat ali root” gives you no way to judge strength.
  • Amount per serving. The trials below gave 200 mg or 600 mg of extract a day. A blend should state its tongkat ali content in milligrams per tablet so you can compare.
  • Standardisation. Some powders state a eurycomanone percentage, as Evolution Botanicals does. That tells you the product is checked for a marker compound rather than sold as plain ground root.

Our capsules and the Evolution Botanicals powder both state an extract ratio. The Chemist Warehouse blends in the search results are multi-ingredient formulas, so check each label for a stated tongkat ali amount before you compare them with the research.

What the tongkat ali research actually tested

Two randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials are the ones most worth knowing before you buy.

The six-month trial in middle-aged men. Leitão and colleagues randomised 45 men, average age 47, into four groups. One group trained, one took the extract, one did both and one did neither, with placebo where needed. 22 men took 200 mg of Eurycoma longifolia daily for six months. The training was three 60-minute sessions a week. The researchers measured a sexual function questionnaire (IIEF-5), the Aging Male Scale and total testosterone. The clearest improvement came in the group that combined the extract with training, and that group’s total testosterone rose (Maturitas, 2021).

The two-week trial in young men. Chan and colleagues gave 32 healthy men, average age 24, either 600 mg of Eurycoma longifolia a day or placebo for two weeks. Compared with placebo, the extract group’s total testosterone (p = .005), free testosterone (p = .012) and oestradiol (p = .008) moved in its favour. Luteinising hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone and sex hormone-binding globulin did not change (Andrologia, 2021).

What these studies have not shown. Both trials were small. The first mixed the extract with a training program, and the second ran for only two weeks. Neither tested a 200:1 capsule like ours, and neither followed people for years, so long-term effects are unknown. The results come from men, so they say little about women. Treat the research as a reason to try a standardised extract at a sensible dose, not as a promise of a result.

How to read a tongkat ali label before you buy

Whether you buy from a chemist, a supplement store or online, these five checks separate a single-herb product from a vague one.

  1. Is the extract ratio printed? 25:1, 100:1 and 200:1 are common. No ratio means you cannot judge strength.
  2. Is the amount per serving in milligrams? Compare the daily serving with the amounts used in the trials above.
  3. How many servings are in the pack? Divide the price by the servings, not by the capsules, to get a fair cost per serving.
  4. Is it Eurycoma longifolia? The botanical name should be on the label.
  5. What else is in it? In a blend, every extra ingredient takes space that could have been tongkat ali.

Applied to our capsules: 200:1 ratio, 2,000mg per three-capsule serving, 30 servings per bottle and $1.33 per serving at $39.99. For dose timing and how much to take, see our tongkat ali dosage guide for Australians.

Eternal Elixir Tongkat Ali 200:1 Extract

This is the product we make and the one we recommend when someone asks for tongkat ali in Australia. Here is what the label and our product page say.

  • 200:1 Eurycoma longifolia root extract
  • 2,000mg per serving of three capsules
  • 90 capsules per bottle, 30 servings at the label dose
  • $39.99 a bottle, or $1.33 per serving
  • Two bottles save 10% ($71.98) and three bottles save 15% ($101.97, which clears the $100 free shipping line)
  • 30-day money-back guarantee, dispatch from Sydney within 24 hours and Afterpay at checkout

The label’s suggested use is three capsules daily on an empty stomach. It is not the cheapest serving in our comparison (the Evolution Botanicals powder costs less per serving), but it is a pre-measured capsule with a higher stated extract ratio, sent from Sydney.

Stacking tongkat ali with other supplements

Some men pair tongkat ali with fadogia agrestis in a morning routine. Our guide to the Huberman tongkat ali protocol covers timing and cycling. Others pair it with shilajit, and our tongkat ali and shilajit comparison explains how the two differ.

Keep stacks simple. Add one product at a time so you can tell what each one does for you, and keep a note of what you took and when.

Safety and who should check with a doctor first

Talk to your GP or pharmacist before you take tongkat ali if you use prescription medicines, have a hormone-sensitive medical condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not for people under 18. Stop taking it and speak to your doctor if you notice side effects. Our tongkat ali side effects guide covers what has been reported in studies.

Frequently asked questions about tongkat ali and Chemist Warehouse

Is tongkat ali available at Chemist Warehouse?

Not as a standalone extract. In September 2026, Chemist Warehouse’s results for a tongkat ali search were combination men’s formulas such as Caruso’s Male Mojo, Caruso’s Testorod and BSc Triandrobol Test Alpha. For a single-ingredient tongkat ali supplement, Australians buy from specialist retailers such as Eternal Elixir or Nutrition Warehouse.

What is the best tongkat ali supplement to buy in Australia?

Our pick is Eternal Elixir Tongkat Ali 200:1 Extract: 90 capsules, a 2,000mg serving on the label, and dispatch from Sydney. If lowest cost per serving is all you care about, the Evolution Botanicals powder at Nutrition Warehouse is cheaper at $0.63 per 0.5 g serving.

Does tongkat ali really raise testosterone?

Two small trials suggest it can help maintain healthy testosterone levels in men. In young men, 600 mg a day for two weeks raised total and free testosterone compared with placebo. In men around 47, 200 mg a day for six months combined with training raised total testosterone. The studies were short or small, so results for any one person are not guaranteed.

How much does tongkat ali cost in Australia?

Eternal Elixir’s 90-capsule bottle is $39.99, or $1.33 per serving. Evolution Botanicals’ 50 g powder is $62.95 at Nutrition Warehouse, or $0.63 per serving. Compare products on cost per serving, not price per bottle.

How long does tongkat ali take to work?

The trials measured hormone changes after two weeks at 600 mg a day, and a combined training and extract program over six months at 200 mg a day. Give any product at least a full bottle before you judge it, and keep your training and sleep steady so you can compare fairly.

Can women take tongkat ali?

The published trials we cite enrolled men only, so there is little evidence for women. Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking hormone medication should not take it without talking to their doctor. Our guide to tongkat ali for women in Australia covers what is known.

Where do Australians buy tongkat ali?

Mostly from specialist online supplement retailers, because the major chemists stock blends rather than single-ingredient extracts. Buying from an Australian retailer avoids international shipping delays.

The bottom line

Chemist Warehouse is the wrong place to look for a single-ingredient tongkat ali extract. Its search results are multi-ingredient men’s formulas. If you want tongkat ali on its own, our pick is Eternal Elixir Tongkat Ali 200:1 Extract: a pre-measured capsule, a 2,000mg label serving and a month’s supply per bottle, shipped from Sydney.
